Conference and Community Seminar Signs – How To Play A Starring Role From Behind The Scenes
The 140 Characters Conference Arrives in Canada
I might not be the biggest, but sometimes it pays to be small but mighty!
This was the case for me last week. You see I never have attended a 140conf before & like most I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Infact I wasn’t even sure what I should wear!!!
I decided to cover myself in Magenta to match the conference’s branding.
At first I felt all alone but soon I had so many people find me in hopes that I could help them find what they were looking for.
I had some very prominent speakers and the rock stars of social media look to me for guidance.
Soon I had my own Paparattzi courtesy of Transitions Photograpy & Sean Yo.
They caught all my best angles & I was even brave enough for a close up.
Even my cousin enjoyed himself. He’s the one in the top right corner. He always wanted to be on the Big Screen!
It just goes to show you that although you don’t play a starring role, you can still be use and an intricate part of something much bigger. Choosing how to display your a custom sign is just as important as where you display it.
Logos and A-Frame signs make a big impact at conferences and seminars. They are versatile are create a lot of visibility for your business. They also can help with findabilty and wayfinding issues at the event. Creating a clear message is also key when it comes to community conference signs. Less is more, but remember to be bold and beautiful at the same time. You want to stand out from everything else around your business logo, but never be an eyesore.

Custom Business Signs – You Want To Go Where Everyone Knows Your Name
Or At Least Your Business Name
So many businesses don’t realize they are missing out on the advertising opportunities that are right outside their door. You need to really assess the area surrounding your location to figure out the best way to draw attention to your store front. This is where you custom business sign can make a big impact.
Down On The Corner, Out In The Streets
If you call in for directions to The Sign Depot, we’ll tell you we’re at the corner of Borden Ave. & Charles St., but really we’re not. That is the closest intersection to our locale & as you can see it’s a very busy place to be.
We take into account that many will see that corner because they are either waiting at the stop light or in line at the drive thru. Which is why we are featured here
& chose this wayfinding text and image to describe where we truly are located on the street
From there it only takes a quick glance to notice our custom sandblasted wood sign from that corner as it’s protruding off the wall.
As you can see we also have a flush-mount sign to attract walk by traffic as well as window graphics for a welcoming entrance.
Sometimes you only have seconds to make an impression. Make sure to use that opportunity to it’s full extent by choosing your signage accordingly. Visibility is the key to getting your company noticed, and custom business signs are what makes the biggest impact on passers-by. Grab their attention and you may see some new customers walk through your door!

Commnunity Involvement Year In Review 2010 @ The Sign Depot
Ever Notice How Quickly Things Change?
This time last year we headed in a new direction. This direction happened to take us across the street, with a few detours along the way. Thank goodness we are masters in the art of wayfinding signs, or should I say in the artistic way of wayfinding?
We had just moved into the Access Storage Building formerly known as Doon Twines/Canada Cordage. There were a few hurdles along the way. Our move went in two parts. The shop was being setup downstairs, but the office would not be ready in time, so we had a “makeshift” office upstairs. During that time we learned a lot about this building and all of it’s passageways, elevators and mishaps that can happen with a heritage building.
Early spring the office was completed and setup began. After that we hosted a public Open House and Food Drive to welcome the community to our new location. It was a great event filled with friends both old and new.
Summer came and it brought a new employee, new business and a new project. Besides our day to day operations, a Pirate, his ship and a trusty first mate we constructed. We visitors almost daily to watch this project evolve.
Since then we’ve had several projects both locally and Toronto based.
Now with this whirlwind year winding down, we’re happy to announce the launch of our new site, a Designers’ Day event in January & an Art Showing coming in February. Want to keep up with us in 2011? It’s easy, just sign up for our Monthly newsletter in the right side bar of this page. We really enjoy our location and are looking forward to more community involvement projects. We promise to keep you in the loop.
Happy Holidays From Everyone at The Sign Depot!
Artistic Sign Displays
Sign Displays For The Restaurant Industry
Restaurants are always looking for unique ways to add decor elements to their interiors. Finding ways to enhance a restaurant’s interior with artistic sign designs that compliment the establishment’s atmosphere is one of the many signs solutions we offer to our clients.
Eyecatching Artistic Sign Displays
When The Charcoal Group brought us the concept behind Wildcraft Grill And Bar we knew they wanted sofisticated signs for interior that complimented their exterior business signs. Choosing to create a display stand showcasing their extensive wine bar was a way to add a wayfinding sign that fit the surrounding decor.
Restaurant Reveal
Wildcraft Grill And Bar was well received by Waterloo Region. It continues to be a thriving restaurant where people enjoy the atmosphere just as much as the menu. By adding a few artistic sign displays, this establishment keeps their customer well informed of what to expect and where they should be headed next, to fully experience all their restaurant has to offer.
Choose Your Signs Wisely
Remember to keep your restaurant signs clear. They serve a purpose, but if it doesn’t reflect the atmosphere it can end up looking cluttered and confusing. When deciding on sign displays consider these factors
-
Does it serve a purpose?
-
Will it compliment the surroundings?
-
Where will it be located?
These are key elements to creating sign displays. You want to highlight certain aspects of your businesses without taking away from the look and feel of your interior design.
For more information on how The Sign Depot can help you with your restaurant sign solutions make sure to talk to one of our sign design experts. They will be happy to answer all of your questions about Restaurant Signs and how they impact the Food Service Industry. Knowing what will look great in your restaurant is just the beginning of the professional sign services we have to offer.
